Description
Kwe' Unama'ki - Hello Cape Breton is an annual multicultural festival that welcomes, shares and celebrates the diversity of the people who call this island home.
Launched in 2018, this celebration was born from a recognition of the continuing diversification of the island, the richness newcomers bring, and the importance of understanding and valuing all who contribute to the culture of Unama'ki - Cape Breton.

Kwe' Unama'ki - Hello Cape Breton could not happen without the incredible support of our volunteer team. Volunteers play a crucial role at the festival, from setting up/tearing down the festival to keeping multiple aspects running smoothly (e.g., welcoming volunteers, children's area volunteers, food vendor support volunteers, and stage assistants).
This year, Kwe' Unama'ki - Hello Cape Breton will take place at the Port of Sydney on November 7 from 1pm-6pm and we are looking for volunteers to help make the festival a success! Register below!
“It's beautiful. You can see all the countries and know more about people, and we're learning from each other. It makes us realize the world is together and we need to work together to make the world a better place.”
— Idara Sampson, 2023 Festival Participant
